• Beach Kitchen

It’s quite possible that you will be treated to a free show while you’re enjoying your breakfast, for example, when a group of dolphins leap playfully out of the water right in front of your eyes. At Beach Kitchen, you have a front-row seat with a view over the sea or right next to the pool. Quite aside from the great views, Beach Kitchen is the culinary center of Finolhu. In the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening, local and international dishes are freshly prepared. Available at various buffet sections, the wide selection of dishes caters to the tastes and preferences of diners as varied and discerning as vegans, vegetarians, and fish or meat lovers. Each evening, our chef de cuisine and his team serve culinary specialities from different regions of the world: Asian, Maldivian, Italian, Seafood and more. As you dine, you'll be serenaded by the tantalising sizzle of fresh fish gracing your table, harmonising with the soothing sounds of the ocean waves gently lapping in the background. The air will be filled with the tantalising aromas of exotic spices such as cardamom, cumin, nutmeg, cinnamon and turmeric, creating an olfactory tapestry of anticipation. Your eyes will feast on a colourful array of mezze platters of fish, meat and vegetables, creating a visual banquet. And when your palate finally encounters a tajine with lime, apricots and walnuts, or perhaps the finest hummus this side of Tunisia and Morocco, you'll embark on a journey of taste like no other. Every day deserves a moment to daydream. Whether it's a leisurely 20-minute stroll along the sandbank or a quick 5-minute ride in traditional wooden boat, you'll soon find yourself lost in your own island reverie. The Crab Shack exudes rustic charm with its wooden planks and palm thatch roof. As you gaze dreamily out over the lagoon, tucking into dishes like mango-papaya salad and piri-piri chicken with a glass of chilled rosé wine and your feet in the sand, you'll feel like you've stepped into the heart of a daydream. And as the sun sets, beach parties at the Crab Shack bring to life dreams reminiscent of Ibiza and Mykonos, filling the night with enchantment. • The most frequently used currency is the US dollar and all traded items are priced in dollars. Other accepted currencies include Australian, Singapore and Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yen, Euro and the British Pound, according to Maldivian Monetary Authority exchange rates. The Maldives has its own currency called “Rufiyaa” (MVR) but the resort accepts credit cards from American Express, Visa and MasterCard.
