This captivating resort spans five islands, with the largest being Medhufaru, encompassing an impressive 150 acres. The heart of the resort, the Gathering is a three-storey over-water structure that is home to various dining outlets, as well as the Soneva Soul Overwater Spa, library and retail area. Breakfast: 07:30 - 10:30 Lunch: 12:30 - 14:30 Dinner: 19:30 - 22:30. Also housed within The Gathering are So Imaginative, The Gathering Wine Cellar, Down To Earth, Asian Kitchen, So Engaging, The Gathering Bar and So Cool.

From the mind of acclaimed Swedish chef, Mathias Dahlgren, Overseas' menu is an ode to organic produce and the sea. Dine on pescatarian, vegetarian, and plant-based single plates, sharing plates, and signature dishes for lunch and dinner

• Crab Shack

In 2019 it was voted the world’s most romantic restaurant by CNN.com, and serves a wide variety of global crab recipes paired with the finest selection of wines and cocktails. Relax barefoot in the beach shack and watch the sun set from the upstairs bar.

• So Wild by Diana Von Cranach

Dine on a health-conscious plant-based menu designed by the innovative raw food chef Diana Von Cranach, showcasing unique and simple dishes that revive historical, nearly-forgotten traditional recipes from the Indonesian Spice Islands and South East Asia. Ninety percent of the ingredients come freshly picked from Soneva Jani’s organic garden and most dishes will be raw. Expect some unusual ingredients, as well as healing herbs and botanics.

• So Primitive

Gather together for a dining experience that brings the element of fire to the fore. So Primitive’s centrepiece is a fire pit where different cooking techniques are honoured. Think roasting, grilling, searing and cooking in a kettle, clay pots (on coals), salt-crusted baking and cooking over coals. Choose from a menu that features fresh seafood, meats, and plant-based dishes

• So Imaginative

Trick your mind and taste buds with culinary chemistry within So Imaginative, Soneva’s experimental tasting room. The sommeliers create inspired wine tastings and dinners, selecting perfect pairings from the cellar. Dinner: 19:30 - 22:30

• Floating Kitchen

A dining experience never to be forgotten, our Floating Kitchen brings the best of our award-winning chefs to the secluded surrounds of your luxury villa. As the buoyant kitchen floats on the surrounding waters, feast on a decadent five-course meal prepared oceanside in front of your very eyes. Dinner: 19:30 - 22:30 everyday except Sunday & Monday

• Asian Kitchen

Journey across the world’s largest continent at Asian Kitchen, situated on the second floor of The Gathering. Indulge in Chinese stir-fries and dumplings, Indonesian delights, classic Thai street food, and succulent Cambodian treats grilled on hot lava stones. Lunch: 12:30 - 14:30 everyday Dinner: 19:30 - 22:30 everyday except Monday

• So Starstruck

Enjoy an exclusive dining experience in the company of the stars as you savour fresh flavours at The Observatory’s dining area. Sit at one of the four tables around our telescope and dine on delicious cuisine, making dinner at So Starstruck a truly out-of-this-world experience. Dinner: 19:30

• Director's Cut

The Director’s Cut serves modern style sashimi, black cod and other Japanese favourites with a contemporary twist. Enjoy a set meal while you take in a classic film at our overwater silent theatre, Cinema Paradiso Dinner: Open for dinner on selected days

• So Bespoke

Flames, smoke and unspoilt views of the Noonu Atoll set the stage for the So Bespoke open-air teppanyaki table. Situated next to Cinema Paradiso, this intimate dining destination seats just ten guests per sitting. Dinner: 19:30 - 22:00 everyday except Monday

• North Island

A weekly Indian Ocean barefoot beach dinner, showcasing the region’s diverse ingredients and unique cooking techniques. North Beach can be booked throughout the week for private beach dinners. Dinner: 19:30 -22:30 every Thursday and private bookings all week

• Guess Who's Cooking

Dine on a secret menu by a mystery chef each Thursday. At the end of the meal the chef will reveal themselves and explain their concept and inspiration.

• The most frequently used currency is the US dollar and all traded items are priced in dollars. Other accepted currencies include Australian, Singapore and Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yen, Euro and the British Pound, according to Maldivian Monetary Authority exchange rates. The Maldives has its own currency called “Rufiyaa” (MVR) but the resort accepts credit cards from American Express, Visa and MasterCard.
